AS Roma left-back Max Tonetto is expected to miss both legs of the Italian club's UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester United FC after suffering a left thigh strain in training on Friday.

International call-up
The 32-year-old defender, who received his first international call-up for the UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ qualifying Group B game against Scotland on Wednesday but did not make his Azzurri debut, will undergo further tests on Monday to confirm the full extent of the injury although initial estimates suggest he will be out for four weeks.

Chivu recovery
There was some good news for Roma coach Luciano Spalletti, however, as centre-back Cristian Chivu is ready to return after recovering from a nose injury sustained in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round second leg at Olympique Lyonnais on 6 March. The Romanian international defender will wear a protective mask for the first-leg trip to Old Trafford on Wednesday.
