Gonzalez underwent right hip surgery in New York last week and remained in the United States for a week for monitoring before returning home Saturday. Doctors decided that surgery on his knee was not necessary. ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m currently on crutches, doing lots of exercise with lots of patience. Itââ¬â¢s actually not as terrible as I imaginedââ¬Â¦ Doctors assessed that by fixing the hip, the knee will feel the benefits [and doesnââ¬â¢t require an operation].ââ¬Â
The former Australian Open finalist said that it would be six to seven months before he could practise. Until then, he has plenty of time on his hands. ââ¬ÅI have therapy twice a day, and apart form that just Iââ¬â¢m resting at home, watching TV, following the news, the miners.ââ¬Â
