Here is a look at what the players in contention for a Shanghai place must do in Paris:
Guillermo Coria: 1) R16 in Paris 2) R48 and Davydenko does not reach Final. If Davydenko reaches Final, then Ljubicic/Gaudio/Nalbandian/Puerta can not win title.
Nikolay Davydenko: 1) Final 2) SF if Nalbandian/Gaudio/Puerta/Ljubicic do not win title. 3) QF if Nalbandian/Gonzalez/Gaudio/Puerta/Ljubicic do not win title.
Ivan Ljubicic: 1) Final if Davydenko does not reach QF and Gaudio/Gonzalez do not win title. 2) Win Title if Davydenko does not reach Final or Coria loses first match.
Gaston Gaudio: 1) Wins 2) Final if Ljubicic/Nalbandian/Puerta donââ¬â¢t win title and Davydenko does not reach QF.
David Nalbandian: 1) Wins title and Davydenko does not reach Final or Coria loses first match. 2) Final --> Gaudio can not reach Final and Davydenko can not reach QF and Gonzalez can not win title.

haha duidelijk. De meeste zullen Davy een vroege aftocht gunnen. Zeker mogelijk tegen Rusedski.

Het gaat eigenlijk alleen maar tussen Coria, Davydenko en Ljubicic. Maar als ik het goed begrijp gaat Coria sowieso als ie van Berdych wint. Dat is dan lullig voor Ljubicic. Dan moet hij dus het toernooi winnen en Davy niet de finale halen.
Met mijn voorspelling Ljubicic-Davydenko gaan Coria en Davy dus naar Shanghai. Ook wel terecht als je over het hele seizoen kijkt.

Ljubicic heeft welgeteld 1 punt meer dan Gaudio en Gonzo staat daar 8 punten achter. Daartussen nog Puerta en Nalbandian. Dus die kun je ook wel meetellen als je Ljubicic als kanshebber ziet

(9e is Safin, gedeeld 8e eigenlijk).
Johansson en Ferrer zijn idd vergezocht, maar dit is de complete uitwerking van de theoretische kansen he.

Maar Gaudio, Gonzo en Puerta zie ik gewoon echt niet ver komen dit toernooi dus daarom had ik ze afgeschreven. Ze moeten het toernooi WINNEN, he.
Ljubici is lekker op weg. Als je zo makkelijk Blake opzij zet, ben je wel favoriet voor de titel.
Wat een drol is die Coria dat ie niet gewoon even van Berdych wint. Nu laat ie zijn lot in de handen van Ljubicic en Davydenko.

Ik zie Nalbandian ook echt wel als contender voor de titel, en Berdych is ook gewoon goed :p

Nu hopen dat Ljubicic de finale van Davydenko wint. Dan zijn deze heren zeker van de Masters Cup (ten koste van Coria). Zeker Ljubicic gun ik het en die hoort er gewoon thuis!!

Begrijp ik het goed dat Coria alleen niet gaat als Ljubicic-Davydenko de finale word? En dat Ljubo dan nog moet winnen ook??
Word een lastige opgave om die kleine dan te lozen.

Dat klopt inderdaad. Gaudio en Davydenko kunnen nooit allebei in de finale staan

Mooi van Isner, maar nu wel erg jammer dat Russell niet mee doet. Maar wel gunstig voor Querrey. Jammer dat Anderson niet doordrukte, maar dat kan Zeballos mooi doen.
Stunt Wawrinka zou leuk zijn, maar niet als ie vervolgens verliest van Djokovic. Maar als die dan weer verliest van Berdych, maakt het niet uit. Dus vannacht is inderdaad cruciaal.

Davy in de kwartfinale dus ToJo hoeft zich geen illusies meer te maken. 2 sets nederlaag tegen Ljubicic nu dus. :8:
Gaudio moet nu de titel winnen om te gaan.

Volgens mij Safin, omdat ie AO heeft gewonnen. Ik denk ook dat er drie van dat rijtje gaan als Safin afzegt.

Het gaat toch opm de eerste acht van de Champions Race?
Dan wordt het volgensmij gewoon Coria en Davydenko in ieder geval en Gaudio of Ljubicic, afhankelijk van wie het verste komt in Parijs (indien allebei even ver, dan Ljubi op slechts 1 punt!)

Nee, het is de top 7 + de hoogst gerankte GS winnaar die niet in de top 7 staat.
In 2003 was dat nog lachen omdat zowel Costa als Sampras niet in de top 8 stonden
Als alle GS winnaars in de top 7 staan, dan gewoon de top 8.

Nadal en Hewitt sowieso wel. Van Agassi weet ik het niet, maar daar ga ik wel vanuit.

Guillermo Coria qualified for the Masters Cup in Shanghai on Thursday, leaving only two spots open in the season-ending showcase. Coria made the elite eight-player field starting on 8 November when Australian Open champion Marat Safin pulled out due to a recurring knee injury.
