Russian world number 11 Nikolay Davydenko has had his preparations for the upcoming Wimbledon Grand Slam threatened because of visa issues.
Davydenko will currently miss the Queen's Club pre-Wimbledon tournament. The world number 11 had an appointment to get his visa at the end of May, but was unable to attend because he had to play in three successive days running after rain interrupted proceedings at the French Open.
"I tried to have it made last week. I should have had an appointment but I played three days in a row. If you remember, I didn't finish my match and the next day I was supposed to have this appointment," Davydenko said.
"I missed the deadline, and Monday was bank holiday in France, and now I will have to try on Wednesday. I know some players said I would have to wait 10 days for a visa. And now I'm in trouble." Davydenko continued.
"I don't know what I can do. I should already play on Monday at Queen's. And for us Russians, it's really important to do it quickly." Davydenko added.
Niklay Davydenko had an impressive run at this year's French Open reaching the quarter final of the prestigious tournament before being knocked out by giant killer Robin Soderling who had already beaten Rafael Nadal.
