MASON - Six months off did nothing to slow down Serena Williams' serve. In fact, if you're talking speed, the American's serve was flying as fast as it's ever gone Tuesday night at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
In her win over second-seeded Anastasia Myskina in the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open, several of Williams' serves were clocked above 120 mph. She even fired a 127-mph serve that matched the fastest ever recorded before this tournament.
However, Serena didn't tie a Sony Ericsson WTA Tour record. WTA publicist Amy Binder said a 130-mph serve was struck here Saturday by Brenda Schultz-McCarthy in a qualifier match, and that blast will stand as the new record.
Nog niet echt doorgedrongen in het nieuws volgens mij, toch wel leuk.
